Dos Greenies
Hey everyone! I hope everyone had a phenomenal week! Last Monday was insane haha. I am proud to announce that i am in Mission Viejo! It is so awesome here and I hope I will stay here for more than a month haha. Last monday we woke up and got everything packed in the car and we were feeling pretty good about ourselves. We were in the car listening to our favourite mission approved song (Grace by Louis Capaldi) and all of a sudden the dash lights on our car start going crazy. I thought it was just going to eject me into the ceiling of the parking gararge. It started saying engine malfunction and my companion, who was driving, was pushing the gas pedal all the way down and we were going max 10 mph. We took it to a nearby shop and they said we had to leave it over night. And in a blink of an eye we were left carless on the side of the road with our luggage like two 18 year old hitch hikers. I had so much stuff that I was bringing for some reason haha I was amazed at all the things that i had acquired over the span of four weeks. We called some other Elders to come pick us up. Elder Caldwell, my MTC companion, and his companion, Elder Pitcher, came and picked us up. That car was jam packed. If Mary Poppins had a car it would be that one because I have no clue how we were able to fit four people and all the stuff that we had.
Any who we got to transfers and I met my new companion, Elder Larson. He is from Minnesota and has been out for three months. I have been out for two months. We are both greenies and are covering the ysa ward and a family ward. Let's just say this past week has been a week of learning haha. Our family ward is so awesome and supportive of us and the ysa is so fun. It is really nice to be around people around my age and to be able to connect with them. We also are able to go and the saddleback community College and talk to students for ysa. On campus we can wear vans and can take our tie off so we look "normal". But I am so excited for this upcoming transfer!
Vickie also got baptized this week! I was able to be a witness in the baptism and it was so amazing! The spirit was soooooo strong and there were so many missionaries there that had taught her in the past it was like a zone conference haha. There was a returned missionary that got married the day before and came to the baptism! I am so grateful to be apart of Vickies life and for her to be apart of mine!
The spiritual thought for this week is an analogy that I heard at a zone council. Imagine Jesus tells you to go push a wall and you go and do it. You are pushing with all of your might. After a long time of pushing, and trying to push over this wall, you finally come back to the savior crying and discouraged saying "I can't push down this wall" and the Savior says "I didn't ask you to push down the wall. I asked you to push and now look at all of your muscles you have now from pushing." And He proceeds to knock down the wall. I know that all the Savior wants us to do is to do our best and he will make up the rest. And through our trials we will learn and grow and become the person He knows we can be.
Have a great week everyone!
