Week 6 Or 7, I Can't Remember Haha
Hello everyone!!! I hope everyone had a great conference weekend because I know I did! We woke up on Saturday morning and you would have thought it was Christmas morning. All the elders in our zone went to the church and watched the Saturday session together on a big TV in the family History room. All the elders got to the church at the same time and we all were sprinting as fast as we could haha you would have thought we were on the last leg of the Amazing Race haha. We pulled in three couches in this tiny room which was really fun.
The work here has been full of doors slammed in our face and Questions about "that guy with ten wives". We had a guy threaten to release his golden doodle on us if we didn't get off of his porch. I was like bro what is it going to do cuddle me to death? There are also bashers which kind of touched on in my last email. The bashers are only from this one church called Compass Bible. They literally have classes on how to bash the mormon missionaries. And they are now sending their own "missionaries" to SLC to bash the Mormons. All I have to say is...good luck. But its funny watching them react when we answer all of their questions they have haha. But yeah there are some nice people as well which is nice when people treat us like we are just regular people haha but I've been loving it! The Halloween decorations have been coming out and let me just say they don't mess around with decorating. Utah needs to step of their game haha.
All the elders in our zone are super tight and we have a couple of elders come over and play mini pool every night which is so fun to be able to have friends to hang out with after a day of spreading the word.
Now it's time for a spiritual thought. We were knocking doors on this one street and we were getting rejected left and right. We then came across a guy in his car waiting to pick his daughter up from the bus stop. We asked him if we could talk to him for a sec and he said yeah. He told us that his cousins were members of our church. We gave him a restoration lesson and told him about the book of Mormon. We then bore our testimony and I had a prompting to tell him that God knows him personally and loves him. He then had tears streaming down his face and he gave me a big hug. I will always remember that feeling knowing that God used me as a tool to deliver His message to one of His children. I know God knows all of you personally and loves you all infinitely! I hope you all have a great week!
