Triple Threat
Hey everyone! So this week has been very crazy, and I keep pinching myself to make sure that it's real. My companion ended up going home, so keep him in your prayers. So by default I am now in a trio with Elder Burton and Elder Cole! We also cover three wards. We didn't plan anything out beforehand so I pretty much just showed up at their door like a lost puppy. We have been winging it this entire week because we have no clue how to handle all of this stuff. But it has been a BLAST! We have been going on campus with cornhole and schooling a bunch of college kids and then inviting them to YSA activities. We spend our nights playing battle bots with our remote control cars. We are children.
During a street contact we were talking to this lady and her husband and all of a sudden Elder Burton rips one and acts like nothing happened. I was talking and I started laughing in the middle of my sentence. The other two had to take over the conversation because I could not stop laughing. By the end of the conversation I was crying and just could not pull it together. It was one of those situations where the fact that you know that you aren't supposed to laugh makes you laugh even harder.
This week we had zone conference and our mission president said something that really stuck out to me. He said to make things meaningfully painful. When we are going through hard times, it is hard to see the big picture. If we take a step back and try to see what the Lord wants me to learn then we will be able to have that perspective. It reminded me of a scripture in the Book of Mormon. it is Ether 12:27 and it says "27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." I know that if we turn to Jesus Christ and seek His help to make our trials and suffering meaningfully painful, then he will make our weak things strong. I know He lives! Have a great week!
