We’re The Missionaries
Hey everyone! Hope everyone had a great week. This week was the last week of the transfer and the trio is coming to an end. I am going back to my old area and training a new missionary. I am sad that the craziness of being in a trio is over but I'm excited to train and catch my breath a little bit.
This week we had to go stop by some people in this gated community called Coto de Caza. In order to get in you have to be on a list for someone who lives there and we don't know anyone in Coto de Caza. So we pull up to the gate and the gate gaurd was like "Hey what's your name and who are you visiting?" We confidently said "We are the missionaries." She then said "OK who are you visiting." And without skipping a beat we confidently said "We are the missionaries." With a confused look on her face she said "OK of course have a good one." And opened the gate for us. It was a crazy missionary mind trick. So I think if you say "We are the missionaries" with enough confidence then you can get in anywhere.
Today's spiritual thought is about charity. Charity is the pure love of Christ. A scripture that shows this pure love is 1 Nephi 19 it says "9 And the world, because of their iniquity, shall judge him to be a thing of naught; wherefore they scourge him, and he suffereth it; and they smite him, and he suffereth it. Yea, they spit upon him, and he suffereth it, because of his loving kindness and his long-suffering towards the children of men." Jesus was called a liar, degraded, and beaten by the people He was saving from both physical and spiritual death, but He endured it and came out triumphant because of the love that He has for you and me. If you were the only one who needed saving He would have gone through all of that suffering for you alone. Jesus Christ loves all of us so much and He invites us to "love one another; as I have loved you" (John 13:34). So I invite you pray for the gift of Charity so we will be able to keep the commandment that Jesus Christ gave us to love one another. I know He lives.
Hope you all have a great week!
