General Conference!!!

Hey everyone I hope you had a great week! This week was general conference and it was like Christmas morning! It was so good to hear from the Prophet and the Lords servants. I am so grateful that we have a prophet of God on the earth and I know that He is a prophet of God.

I think I had my most productive 15 minutes of my mission on Sunday after conference. We watched all of the sessions at the institute building with the ysa's and hung out pretty much the whole day both days there. They have a ping pong table there and that is all that me and this ysa named Peter did. Going into the last session of conference the series was tied 3-3 and Peter was going back to Idaho on Monday so we had to get one more game in. We had a friend come to conference and we were having a lesson with him right after, so I was put in a predicament. Peter couldn't stay later than 20 minutes after the session ended and I also needed to teach our friend. But then the stars aligned and our friend was hungry so he asked us if we could meet in like 10 minutes after he ate. So me and Peter looked at each other and sprinted to the table. It was a very close match and we were going so fast that I think I saw burn marks on the table. We went into overtime and I could see that our friend was almost done with his dessert. I had to put this one away. The score was 30-31, and I was up. Peter served it and and he mistakenly put it right in my wheelhouse and I slammed it home. I immediately dropped the paddle and started running towards our friend who was currently taking his last bite of his chocolate chip cookie. I ran across the room to meet with our friend and I swear Chariots of Fire was playing in the background as I ran. I made it just in time and had a lesson with our friend and since I had such a high intensity ping pong match I was sweating profusely. We ended up having a great lesson with him and with beads of sweat rolling down my face we invited him to be baptized and he said yes!!! All of that happened within the span of 15 minutes. Miracles have not ceased.

This weeks spiritual thought comes from Hebrews 12:2 and it says "2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God" This verse explains how Jesus was able to get through all of His suffering. It says "who for the joy that was set before him" meaning that He knew of the joy that He would have seeing us have joy living with Him and Heavenly Father again and that is what gave Him strength and motivation to just keep going. Jesus had an eternal perspective even in His infinite torment. We can be like Jesus when we feel like we are stuck and we don't see a way out anytime soon. Look forward at the Joy you will feel when it's over. Jesus Christ will help you and He will carry you through the hard things in your life. Look at the joy that is set before you that is in Jesus Christ.
I know He lives!!! Hope you all have a great week!
