Stuck In The Middle

Hey everyone! Hopefully, you had a great week. This week I got transferred to, drum roll please.........SAN MARCOS! It is so awesome down here. I am in one of the most southern areas of the mission. I was pretty bummed to leave the ysa ward that I was serving in but I am now in another ysa ward in San Marcos. We spend most of our time talking to people on college campuses like in my last area. My comps name is Elder Fossum and we get along so great! We have spent most of this week cracking jokes and working our guts out.

This week we went to visit one of our friends in an apartment complex. We knocked on his door and he wasn't answering. Another person walked by and we started talking to her. In the middle of our conversation, the dad of the guy we were visiting opened the door and he just looked at us and then started talking to the lady we were talking to. All of a sudden, as if there was a disturbance in the force, two or three more people randomly came out of their apartments and joined in the conversation as if it was planned. After a few seconds of looking for the cameras, making sure I wasn't getting pranked, me and my companion looked at each other in confusion and slowly crept away trying to figure out how we lost control so quickly haha.

This weeks spiritual thought comes from 2 Corinthians 5:17 it says "17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" Jesus Christ suffered, died, and lived for every single one of us! He didn't have to do that. He could have stayed with the Father and wouldn't have had to experience all the darkness and despair that He did, but He chose to go through it. Why? Because first of all we are His brothers and Sisters and He loves us and we love Him. And second because He saw our potential. We are literal children of an Eternal Father. Jesus Christ knew what we can become so He willingly suffered for us. He gave us this gift so we can eventually reach the potential that He saw in us. As we apply Jesus Christ atoning sacrifice in our lives, we will change and continue to become "new creatures" in Him. I know He lives!!! Have a great week!
