20 Questions

Hey everyone I hope you had a great week! This week was pretty eventful. I had my first experience on bikes on my mission, I helped clean a snail cage for some Elders who are trying make homemade escargot, and have been playing a whole lot of Kendama.

This week we has a lesson with our friend Simon, who is on date for baptism. Simon said the first time we met him that he was 25, but he looks like he is 40. Since we are in the young single adult ward, we only teach people that are 18-31 and if they are older they go to a regular family ward. We had to make sure that Simon was in that range, so the first 20 minutes of that lesson was making sure that we didn't hear him wrong when he told us how old he was that first time. We didn't wanted to flat out ask him how old he was, because that would have been too easy. We pretty much played 20 Questions with him. We started off the conversation talking about his favorite type of tree, and we were able to steer the conversation to him telling us that he actually is 25 years old. I think I may have a job in interrogation when I get home haha.

The spiritual thought this week come from Isaiah 29:4 and this is a prophecy of the coming forth of the Book of Mormon, it says "4 And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust." The reason the Book of Mormon has a "familiar spirit" because it speaks truth, and the Holy Ghost is testifying to your spirit that these things are from God. God has reached out again in love, like he has in the past and he called a prophet. And a few verses later in Isaiah 29:11-12 "11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed: 12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned." God called an imperfect and unlearned man named Joseph Smith to be a prophet and restore those truths that had been lost for centuries after Jesus Christ and His apostles died. I know for a fact that the Book of Mormon is true simply because it has gotten me so much closer to my Savior Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost has testified to me that it is true. Which naturally makes Joseph Smith a true prophet. I know for a fact that God has restored His church and His gospel to the earth. I promise that if you read the Book of Mormon, you will come to know Jesus Christ and it will inspire you to become more like Him.
I know Jesus Christ lives!
Hope you all have a great week!
