Karaoke

Hey everyone! Hope you had a great week! This week flew by. We had a karaoke night with the ward, and a few of our friends came. I literally had to carry that activity because no one would go up and sing. I sang anything from Sweet Caroline to Santeria to Tequila. After about 20 minutes of me up there, people started warming up to the idea, and others started to participate. 


This week, we went on an exchange. When me and this Elder that I was with woke up, we started to plan out our day before our personal study. The Elder starts rambling about how he has been doing this thing before he studies that helps him focus. He rambles for about 7 minutes about how much it has helped him, and in the middle of his lecture stands up and walks into the bedroom to get his pillow and blanket. He then proceeds to lay on the couch and put an eye mask on, all while still rambling about how this "focus exercise" has changed his life. After about a minute of just laying there he starts snoring and he slept for a half an hour. That "focus exercise" must have been super strenuous if he fell asleep that fast.


The spiritual thought this week comes from Revelation 12:11 it's says "11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death." Before we came to Earth, we lived with our Father in Heaven, and when He proposed a plan, Lucifer challenged Him and wanted the glory to himself. Our older Brother then stepped up and said "Here am I, send me." We knew it was going to be hard on earth but we had so much faith in Jesus Christ that we were willing to go down with the risk of feeling pain and sorrow. We knew beforehand that He would accomplish what He said He would do for us, and now we need to have that same faith and know that we can overcome any obstacles through the Blood of the Lamb. When we have faith in Jesus Christ we can truly "hope for a better world" like Ether said in the Book of Mormon. I know that He lives and that through His blood, we can overcome anything. We're Gonna Need A Bigger Pole

Hey everyone! This week went by quick. Some cool things happened this week where 80 marines showed up to church yesterday and it was such a cool experience to be able to teach so many of them. We also put our friend Francisco, whose a marine, on date for baptism for December 9th. Our friend Isaiah is still solid and is getting baptized this Saturday. He shared with me that sometimes he doesn't want to come to church but he goes anyways, and he feels this peace that he has never felt before and he said that he knows that this church is true.  We usually do our calls and text on the San Clemente Pier, because it right by our apartment, and there are a lot of people fishing off the pier. So one night we were at the pier doing some phone calls and all of a sudden there's this teenaged kid running up and down the pier being drug by his pole. Oh Glory

Hey everyone! Hope your week was good! This week was crazy for me. We took our recent convert Rick to the hospital because he has an infection in his arm and it blew up like a balloon. His arm looked like the Pillsbury dough boy. Also, we found some really cool people who have been able to find out the Book of Mormon is true by themselves! Also yesterday an old friend that hasn't met with the missionaries in a little bit, met with us yesterday and said that she wants to get baptized! Her name is Sherry and her date is October 21st. Overall good week. This week I went on an exchange into a bike area. It is actually pretty fun being on bikes because it's good to get your blood pumping. I also learned how to ride with no hands during the exchange. But we were riding along the street and I stopped to talk to these people and I stepped off my bike pedal to stable myself. Out Of Place

Hey everyone! Hope your week was great. This week was a blur for me. Halloween came and went pretty fast and now it has already almost been a week. This week we had a halloween party for the YSA ward, we had MLC the day after, and went on an exchange with some Elders that are on bikes but the members gave them Ebikes, so overall pretty good week. Like I said, we had a Halloween party with the YSA ward. We weren't going to dress up, but the Sisters also serving in the ward said that everyone was dressing up and you need to dress up or else you will be lame. So we went to every halloween store near us during our dinner hour frantically searching for a costume to buy. We went to TJ Maxx and found some onesies. I got a Grinch one and my compainion got a minion. We bought them and went over to the church.
