Ghost Stories

Hey everyone! Hope you had a great week! Mine was pretty good. We went on an exchange with some of the mandarin speaking Elders and had a blast. We got to play basketball with a bunch of old Chinese men who would just cherry pick and huck up half courters the entire time, it was so funny.

Every Wednesday there is a ukulele club at the church for all these old people and most of them aren't members of the church so we go and share a spiritual message at the end. But these old people are jamming and it is so fun. Every week so far this guy named Dwight has come up to me and asked me if I knew any ghost stories and I made the mistake of telling him all the ones I knew on the very first time I met him. We went to ukulele club and Dwight came up to me and told me that he had a few Ghost stories to tell me. He then proceeded to tell me all the stories that I told him as if he personally experience all of them. He would tell a story and he would say "And do you know what happened next?" And then I would finish the story and he would be like "yes, that's exactly what happened!" He told me three stories and I did that to him all three times. By the third story he said "Man, how did you know that?" And I just told him "I guess I'm just on fire." You got some characters at the Uke club.

Something that I have been trying to get better at since I have been on my mission is living in the moment. I feel like most of the time life is just so fast paced and we are always looking forward to the next thing wishing our life away. I am very guilty of this. The key to enjoying the moment is simple. It's Jesus Christ. No matter what circumstances you are in, as long as you know that Jesus Christ has suffered died and and paved the way for us to live forever by being resurrected, you can find joy in the moment and enjoy life itself that Jesus Christ has provided for us. One of my favorite names of Jesus Christ is "The Master of Life." Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf said "Life is not meant to be appreciated only in retrospect." Psalm 118:24 says "24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Jesus Christ has already won the battle and has provided us the opportunity to find joy in the now. As we turn to Him and remember His victory over pain, sorrow, and suffering, we will not only appreciate life in retrospect, but appreciate it now. I know He lives, and He lives for us. Hope everyone has a great week!
