Oh Glory
Hey everyone! Hope your week was good! This week was crazy for me. We took our recent convert Rick to the hospital because he has an infection in his arm and it blew up like a balloon. His arm looked like the Pillsbury dough boy. Also, we found some really cool people who have been able to find out the Book of Mormon is true by themselves! Also yesterday an old friend that hasn't met with the missionaries in a little bit, met with us yesterday and said that she wants to get baptized! Her name is Sherry and her date is October 21st. Overall good week.
This week I went on an exchange into a bike area. It is actually pretty fun being on bikes because it's good to get your blood pumping. I also learned how to ride with no hands during the exchange. But we were riding along the street and I stopped to talk to these people and I stepped off my bike pedal to stable myself. What I quickly found out that it was a 6 inch drop off into some bushes. I have started to develope a habit of saying "Oh glory" in a canadian accent because we have some canadian missionaries and I like to make fun of them. But if they heard this story they would ask me who is laughing now because I stepped of the bike, off the ledge and couldn't do anything to catch myself. As I was about to tip I said "Oh glory" in a canadian accent and fell into the bushes in the middle of talking to people. I quickly got out of teh bushes and invited them to church and saw if they were interested and biked as fast as I could out of there. They were being polite, by trying not to laugh but I still felt the shame.
This weeks spiritual thought comes from the book of Helaman in the Book of Mormon. This is the prophet Nephi talking about how Moses lifted up a brazen serpent to represent Christ and all those who looked at it were healed. It says "15 And as many as should look upon that serpent should live, even so as many as should look upon the Son of God with faith, having a contrite spirit, might live, even unto that life which is eternal." We need to look unto Christ with a desire to let Him change us for the better. Even with the smallest desire to change, Jesus Christ will work miracles in our lives if we have sincere heart. He will grant us more joy and peace in our lives as we choose him. He will keep giving us more joy if we keep looking to Him and that is eternal life. His love and mercy is endless, we just need to access it by doing what He tells us to do. I know He lives! Have a great week!
