You Don't Need To Wear A Mask To Be A Hero
Hey everyone! Hope everyones week was good. This week was crazy, we found another really cool person named Christine and she accepted baptism! She is getting baptized on October 28th. It has been so cool to see how it truly is the Lords work, and it will get done no matter who is doing it. We also knocked some doors with some 7 year olds that we played soccer with. They were our little padawons and we ended up teaching one the kids parents!
This weeks story is about a hero that doesn't fly with some supernatural super powers, but with his eyebrows. And instead of his cape flapping in the wind, its his combover. That hero's name is Brother Blye. On Saturday our friend Christine showed up at 9am to church, thinking that the church service was that day. Luckily Brother Blye woke up and thought it was Sunday! And the hand of God made it so his phone wouldn't turn on, so he couldn't see what day it was. He got ready and headed to church. Christine was wondering where everyone was and all of a sudden the Superman theme song started playing and Brother Blye whips around the corner and with a confused look on his face stepped out of the car and was able to tell Christine that church was tomorrow. Christine then came to church and loved it! No need to fear Brother Blye is here!
This week I had the opportunity to finish the Book of Mormon again. I cannot deny the power that was manifested to me of the Books truthfulness. As I was reading I was particularly moved by this verse in 3 Nephi 17:5 when Jesus ministered to the Nephites. It says "5 And it came to pass that when Jesus had thus spoken, he cast his eyes round about again on the multitude, and beheld they were in tears, and did look steadfastly upon him as if they would ask him to tarry a little longer with them." When we long for His presence and are begging Him to tarry a little longer, He stays. As you read the Book of Mormon you will never feel Him leave you. He will tarry as long as you read, ponder, and apply the Books precepts. He lives and He longs to be with us even more than we long to be with Him. Have a great week!
