Sticks And Stones
Hey everyone! Can't believe it's Monday again. The weeks are flying by! It was pretty rainy this week and on one of the days I made the mistake of wearing an all cotton jacket, and it soaked up all the water like a sponge. I had to go short sleeve white shirt the rest of the day and I was so wet and cold. Let's just say I needed a Krispey Kreme warm glazed donut after that experience. We also have our friend Sam getting baptized this Saturday. She is really awesome, so please pray for Sam that she will be baptized.
This week there wasn't anything too out of the ordinary except for one night where we were in the Wal-Mart parking lot and we invited this one guy to church and he cussed us out, and then we talked to the next person we saw and the same thing happened. We then went to the next person we saw, same thing happened. After that we went to one more person and the same thing happened. I just started laughing because what are the odds of getting cussed out 4 times in a row. I guess they were having a sale on mean pills at Walmart that day. After taking a few minutes to remember that "sticks and stones may break my bones" and that "words will never hurt me" I felt like we should do one more lap around the parking lot. We then found a super awesome guy named Jesus (not the one from the bible) and we were able to have a 45 minute lesson with him in the parking lot.
This weeks spiritual thought comes from Mark 10:45 and it says "For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." True greatness isn't measured on jow much stuff you have, or even your own personal accomplishments. It's measured on how well you serve and minister to others. Jesus is the perfect example of that. He did the greatest act of service anyone has ever, and will ever do. Let us all follow the example of Christ and seek to serve and minister as the He would. He is the great exemplar and I know He lives! Hope you all have a great week!
