With All Do Respect...

Hey everyone! This week was insanely fast! I can't believe it's already Monday again. This past week we had zone conference and Elder Mark A. Bragg of the seventy came and spoke to us. I turned twenty this week, which is crazy that I'm no longer a teenager. Other than that we lived in parking lots this week and found some pretty cool people.

When in the parking lots you have a lot of rejection but when you find someone it's so fulfilling. One night me and Elder Holt were in a parking lot and invited this guy to church and he asked us what church we were from and we told him, then he said "Um yeah I'm good" in a snarky voice. We then asked him if he knew anyone that would want to come. He then said "With all do respect..." which apparently if you say that at the beginning of a sentence, that it means that you have free reign to say the most menacing comment and get away with it. He then said "I would not send anyone to your church. It would probably be the last church I would send them to." Now I hear comments like that everyday, but the thing that got me, was the fact that he said "With all do respect" and then said something so disrespectful. After he made that comment, me and Elder Holt started dying laughing. We then through chuckles told the man to have a nice day. So the big take away from this story is that if you want to tell someone how you really feel about them, but you are worried about hurting their feelings, just insert the phrase "With all do respect" at the beginning and you will be fine.

This weeks spiritual thought is from The Book of Mormon in Alma 32:42 it says "42 And because of your diligence and your faith and your patience with the word in nourishing it, that it may take root in you, behold, by and by ye shall pluck the fruit thereof, which is most precious, which is sweet above all that is sweet, and which is white above all that is white, yea, and pure above all that is pure; and ye shall feast upon this fruit even until ye are filled, that ye hunger not, neither shall ye thirst." I love this scripture because it is talking about our faith, but it can apply to anything we are working on in our life. If we have diligence, faith, and patience, the Lord will perfect our effort and enable us to be able to reach our goals and dreams. He came down so we could find joy in progressing and he provided a way for us to do that. He is the program to progress. He lives!!! I love Him! Have a great week!
