"Despite All My Rage I'm Still Just A RAT In A Cage"
Hey everyone! I had the opportunity to go to the temple today so it was a longer week, but it still flew by. I hit my 18 month mark which feels so weird! We met some cool people and it was overall a pretty good week.
This past week we got a call from this lady that said that she needed help moving some stuff from her car to her storage unit. We met her there and she had a few things that we could have easily taken to her storage unit ourselves, but she insisted that we used a cart. So after an extra 20 minutes of trying to play tetras to fit everything on this cart, we finally made it to her storage unit. This whole time she has been telling us how proud she was of herself for getting all the food out of her unit the last time she was here so rats wouldn't come in and destroy everything. So when we got there she whipped out a huge bag with probably 25-30 keys. She went through every single one of those keys and none of them worked. She then tried the first key again and it worked. She said that she tried doing it upside down the first time haha. As she was unlocking the unit she again told us how proud she was for not having food in there. We opened the door and there was skittles rappers everywhere and all of her boxes were ripped to shreds. She then said "Oh dang it, I didn't think that they would get into those!" Well they did and went on a tear. I then spent the next hour cleaning up shredded boxes and rat poop. Those dang skittles.
This weeks spiritual thought is from the Book of Mormon in Jacob 6:5. It says "5 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, I beseech of you in words of soberness that ye would repent, and come with full purpose of heart, and cleave unto God as he cleaveth unto you. And while his arm of mercy is extended towards you in the light of the day, harden not your hearts." I love how Jacob talks about how God is cleaving to us. I think we sometime overlook the fact that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are cleaving to us way more than we are cleaving to them. We are of infinite worth to Them. They both live! Have a great week!
