Scott Sterling

Hey everyone! This week flew by! We met some cool people, and our friends on date are doing great. Their names are Roland and Carlos, and they will be baptized in the next couple weeks, so please pray for them! I also had the opportunity to go to a buffet this Saturday, which was Heavenly. I found that buffets are the only place on earth where it is socially acceptable to have grapes, sushi, pizza, and green jello on the same plate. 


This week we played chair soccer with all the Elders in our zone. The game of chair soccer is not for the faint hearted. It can get intense at points. I usually go for the strategy of kicking the ball as hard as I can and hope it hits something. So I go and kick the ball as hard as I can and it goes straight into this Elders stomach. I felt so bad. A few minutes later I do the same thing and it hit him in the same spot. I had to tell him that I wasn't doing it on purpose. After he took 5 and felt good enough to start playing again he came back in the game. The ball was bouncing and it was right in my wheel house. I wound up and kick the ball as hard as I could and I think it broke the sounds barrier leaving my foot. The ball went straight into the same Elders stomach and I could not pull it together. He was a Scott sterling prodigy.


This spiritual thought this week comes from 2 Nephi 4:35. It says "35 Yea, I know that God will give liberally to him that asketh. Yea, my God will give me, if I ask not amiss; therefore I will lift up my voice unto thee; yea, I will cry unto thee, my God, the rock of my righteousness. Behold, my voice shall forever ascend up unto thee, my rock and mine everlasting God. Amen." I personally know that Nephi's council in this verse is true. I have had times when my prayers aren't as sincere as others. I have been able to feel of my Heavenly Father and Saviors love through my sincere prayers. It is an amazing gift to be able to communicate with Heavenly Father in such an intimate and personal manner. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live! Have a great week!

Hey everyone! This week went by quick. Some cool things happened this week where 80 marines showed up to church yesterday and it was such a cool experience to be able to teach so many of them. We also put our friend Francisco, whose a marine, on date for baptism for December 9th. Our friend Isaiah is still solid and is getting baptized this Saturday. He shared with me that sometimes he doesn't want to come to church but he goes anyways, and he feels this peace that he has never felt before and he said that he knows that this church is true.  We usually do our calls and text on the San Clemente Pier, because it right by our apartment, and there are a lot of people fishing off the pier. So one night we were at the pier doing some phone calls and all of a sudden there's this teenaged kid running up and down the pier being drug by his pole. He was screaming for help from the lobster people. He was yelling "Lobster people, help! I've got a huge lobster!" The pole kept ...

Oh Glory

Hey everyone! Hope your week was good! This week was crazy for me. We took our recent convert Rick to the hospital because he has an infection in his arm and it blew up like a balloon. His arm looked like the Pillsbury dough boy. Also, we found some really cool people who have been able to find out the Book of Mormon is true by themselves! Also yesterday an old friend that hasn't met with the missionaries in a little bit, met with us yesterday and said that she wants to get baptized! Her name is Sherry and her date is October 21st. Overall good week. This week I went on an exchange into a bike area. It is actually pretty fun being on bikes because it's good to get your blood pumping. I also learned how to ride with no hands during the exchange. But we were riding along the street and I stopped to talk to these people and I stepped off my bike pedal to stable myself. Out Of Place

Hey everyone! Hope your week was great. This week was a blur for me. Halloween came and went pretty fast and now it has already almost been a week. This week we had a halloween party for the YSA ward, we had MLC the day after, and went on an exchange with some Elders that are on bikes but the members gave them Ebikes, so overall pretty good week. Like I said, we had a Halloween party with the YSA ward. We weren't going to dress up, but the Sisters also serving in the ward said that everyone was dressing up and you need to dress up or else you will be lame. So we went to every halloween store near us during our dinner hour frantically searching for a costume to buy. We went to TJ Maxx and found some onesies. I got a Grinch one and my compainion got a minion. We bought them and went over to the church.
