Smooth Transition

Hey everyone! Quick week this week because it was four days since my last Pday. The first of last week was kind of a struggle for finding new people to teach but we were able to find some cool people at the end of the week and one of them cane to church and wants to get his family involved. God will definitely show you the miracle after the trial of your faith.

This past week we went on an exchange with some Elders in a YSA ward and we went on the UCI campus. We were getting rejected left and right by atheists. But then a Chinese cowboy came out of the crowd and told us that he was interested in learning more and coming to church. He had wrangler jeans, a flannel, a snake skin hat with a light on it. He was legit. He was like manna from heaven in the barren land of UCI. But all of a sudden this random guy came up to us and started bashing us trying to make this guy not want to check it out. I was determined to not let the cowboy slip through my fingertips. So the Elder I was with kind of lured the basher away and I stayed with the Cowboy and I went to show him something on my phone and a flash of inspiration came. I said "It's hard to see because of the glare, let's move to the shade." It was a cloudy day and there was no glare, but we managed to defuse a situation that could have been very bad. By the grace of God we got the cowboys number and set up a return appointment.

This weeks spiritual thought comes from the Book or Mormon in 3 Nephi 14:9-11. This is when the Savior is giving the Sermon on the mount to the Nephites, He is talking about the nature of God and the power of prayer. He says "9 Or what man is there of you, who, if his son ask bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?". I have been able to learn, since being on my mission, that Heavenly Father is waiting to bless us. We just need to exercise the faith to humble ourselves and ask for His help. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are anxiously engaged in our success and they want to help us get there in any way possible. Jesus Christ lives! He loves us and knows us. Have a great week!
