The Magic Mover

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great week. This past week was kinda crazy. I went down to Carlsbad to camp Pendleton to do a training for missionaries that go on base. We got a flat tire and we fixed it in 15 minutes flat, and 13 of those minutes were us searching the car to try and find the spare tire and the jack. We also helped people with two moves. Overall good week though.

The first move that we helped with was one of our friends that we are teaching that is moving to Texas. She hired this one man moving company. His name was T'Chaka (like Black Panthers dad) and he was one of the coolest guys that I've ever met. He also only had this sprinter van that he fit an entire apartment worth of stuff in, which consisted of a washer, dryer, two couches, and  a bunch of boxes. He started by putting of of the couches in and then the washer and dryer. He then asked for my help to put the other couch on top of the couch already in there. So we get it in the van and we flip it upside down so we can stack it. T'Chaka then lays down on the other couch and tells me to push when he tells me to. After he lays down he pulls the couch on top of him and tells me to push. He then gave it a big pull which made it so the couch shot up and stacked nicely on top of the other. But T'Chaka was still underneath the couch. There was very little space to get out because the washer and dryer were blocking the opening that he could get out. I asked if he need help, he said that he didn't and told me to go start getting some boxes. Literally only two minutes later I come back with some boxes and T'Chaka had somehow escaped the grasps of the sofa. With a stunt like that he would have given Houdini a run for his money.

This weeks spiritual thought comes from D&C 110:7 it says "7 For behold, I have accepted this house, and my name shall be here; and I will manifest myself to my people in mercy in this house." In 1836 the Kirtland temple was dedicated and the Lord Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery. Jesus accepts the house that they have built and He tells that it is a place where His name and His mercy will be manifest. Temples are a huge blessing for us in this life, but we can make our lives a place where the Lord can dwell. We can take upon His name and recieve of His mercy if we turn to Him and have faith in Him. He is waiting for us with open arms to do so. I know that He is alive today! Have a great week!
