Dog Eat Dog World
Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great week! This week was great for me! We taught a lot and we found some cool people too. We had a recruit get baptized on base yesterday, which was super fun. We also put our other friend Michael on date for July 14th!
This week I reached out to one of my recent converts that I helped baptize in Oceanside at the first of the year. Her name is Sam and she is super cool. She messaged back and told me how she was. We messaged back and forth and then I found out that she and her husband just moved to our apartment complex! We set up a time to meet up with her and her husband at the dog park at the complex because she wanted me to meet their new dog. So later in the week we met up there and it was so good to see her and her husband. I was playing with their puppy and he was so cute, but their was a labradoodle that was massive also in the dog park. As I was trying to play with Sam's dog I was getting pushed around by this labradoodle. Not sure what the owner was doing during all this. I felt like I was in the octagon being on the receiving end of some ground and pound. I then would try to talk to Sam and the dog would started jumping on me, I would be shoving the dog off of me constantly. If college football needs a new model for the Heisman trophy, I'm their guy because I've got a mean stiff arm. After talking with Sam for a few minutes and battling this randomly relentless dog, we left. As I was walking back I noticed that I had this dogs slobber all over my pants. The dog definitely had the last laugh.
This weeks spiritual thought comes from the Book of Mormon. In Alma 7:11-12 it talks about how Jesus Christ suffered for not only our sins but for our pains, sicknesses, and infirmities and in verse 13 it says "13 Now the Spirit knoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of God suffereth according to the flesh that he might take upon him the sins of his people, that he might blot out their transgressions according to the power of his deliverance; and now behold, this is the testimony which is in me." This verse says that the spirit knows all things and Jesus could have understood how we felt by revelation but he chose to actually feel how we feel. He did this so He could know exactly how to succor us. I am a witness of His help and His comfort. I know that He is living because of these experiences! Have a great week!
