Missionaries Against The World
Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great week! This week our friend Hector got baptized and our friends Young and AJ that were baptized last week, got the priesthood the same night as Hectors baptism. We also had transfers, and Elder Anderson went home. My new comps name is Elder Ellis and he is awesome!
This past week me and my comp had to go to the public library in Escondido to use the computers to plan a training that we were giving. Now, I love San Diego County but let's just say that you meet a lot of interesting people down here. As I was walking in, there was a homeless lady using one of the computers. She looked at me and I smiled and waved at her, and she then proceeded to flip me off for a solid ten seconds. Her finger followed me as I walked in, all the way until I sat down at the computer a few chairs down from her. She then turned back to her own computer and started yelling "Nicholas Cage is in the cave!!!" To my surprise the librarian didn't even give a "Shhhh". Me and my comp then started working on the training, and we were whispering back and forth giving ideas. The the librarian then pops up behind the computer and tells us that this is a "Talk free zone". I couldn't believe it. It's just the missionaries against the world I guess.
This weeks spiritual thought is from the Bible in Romans 8:38-39. It says "38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." I wanted to just focus on the atonement of Jesus Christ in this spiritual thought. Because He suffered, bled, died, and rose again, we will all be resurrected no matter what and all have a chance to become perfect through Him. It doesn't matter how far gone you think you are, nothing can separate us from the love of God because He is "in all and through all things" (D&C 88:6) He suffered and died for each of us individually and He wants us to use this divine gift of His. I know He lives today and is with you right now. Have a great week!
