Modern Day Indiana Jones
Hey everyone! Hope your week was good! This week was crazy, we had two baptisms! Our friend Young got baptized on Wednesday and our friend AJ got baptized on Saturday. I'm so grateful that the Lord allows me to be apart of the greatest work on earth!
This past week we helped move some filing cabinets for the stake building coordinator and they were filled to the brim with paper, so they were so heavy. Luckily they had a dolly, but it was the shortest dolly I've ever seen. I swear I saw the munchkins in the wizard of oz use that dolly. Because it was so short, all of the top weight was on my forearms. We were moving them from one room to another, so I would just grit my teeth and wheel the cabinet to the other room. I was so close to putting it down when this lady comes in and says "Wait one second! This will be really quick!" She then went and got a broom and swept the floor which was fine but then she said she needed to do one more thing. She then spent the next three minutes trying to get this poster off the bulletin board that was right where I needed to put the filing cabinet. The other guy kept telling her to move and she would say "I've almost got it" Meanwhile my forearms are dying so I just went in and hoped she moved. It was like something from Indiana Jones where she was about to get hit by the filing cabinet and at the last second she got the poster off and hopped out of the way. Me and my companion were dying at the fact that I just went and forced her to move. My forearms are still tender.
This weeks spiritual thought comes from Alma 36:27. It says "27 And I have been supported under trials and troubles of every kind, yea, and in all manner of afflictions; yea, God has delivered me from prison, and from bonds, and from death; yea, and I do put my trust in him, and he will still deliver me." I can say with Alma that God has delivered me from trials and supported me throught trials. Some trials God will immediately deliver us from but some trials He let's us go throught them to help us grow and He supports us. But whether He immediately delivers us or supports us through our trials, the main point is that He is always there on the front lines of our lives with us. Jesus Christ is real and He is alive today. I personally know He lives! Have a great week!
