The Last One

Hey eveyone! Hope you all had a great week! This week has been crazy!! I had my departing interview with my mission president and the departing temple trip with all the missionaries that are leaving. Yesterday our friend Kai was baptized and it was such a special way to end my mission.  On Wednesday I will return home. It doesn't seem real because this has been my life for the past two years. I have loved my mission! The California Newport Beach mission and all the people inside of it have been so good to me. I have made so many lifelong friends whether it be investigators, members, or missionaries. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have had to serve the people of Newport Beach California and more importantly, the Savior. Over these past two years I have had so many experiences with Him and He has worked miracles in my life. I have come to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His kingdom once again established on the earth today. Joseph Smith was His pr...

Getting Smoked

Hey everyone! Hope your week was good! This week went by so fast. I think the weeks go faster and faster as time goes by. This past week we had two baptisms. We had a recruit get baptized and our friend Michael got baptized into the ysa ward. It was such a cool week being able to see 5 children of God come back into His fold.  There is never a dull moment serving on the military base. The only bad thing about that is that we are on a military base where recruits are getting ripped to shreds by their drill instructors. They call it "getting smoked" whenever that happened. I've heard some crazy stories from the recruits about getting smoked, but I got to witness it with my own eyes this past Sunday. In the middle of sacrament this poor recruit that was right outside of our building was caught by a drill instructor and got smoked hard. The drill instructor ye...

Splish Splash

Hey everyone! This week was really good! We had MLC so I got to see a bunch of old friends in the mission. We We also had 3 baptisms on Sunday for some recruits on base! It was so cool and all three of them were so happy. Like I said, three recruits were baptized. One of the recruits is particularly large and the kiddie pool that we use isn't too big. Because they need to be fully immersed in the water, they need to lay flat on their back to go all the way under. For this recruit that was getting baptized, he layed flat on his back and there were still parts of his body that were sticking up. Ironically we chose the smallest guy in the company to baptize him, so he was trying to push down his lower half but his upper half would come out of the water and he couldn't reach his upper half fast enough to push that down as well. We just needed his whole body to be submerged for just a second. The baptizer being creative started to drag him through the pool to try and create a wave t...
