Stumped

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great week! This week has been kinda crazy. We went on a couple exchanges, zone conference, sword fighting (again), and our temple day!

This week we may have made a mistake by bringing Brother Blye to one of our lessons. If you don't remember Brother Blye, he made an appearance on my email a couple months ago. We went to the lesson and they had to cancel so we decided to bring Brother Blye to street contact some people with us. I went and started talking to this girl by the dumpster and we were having a great conversation about God. She was standing by a wall and on the other side of the wall I see Brother Blye creeping up, like a lion about to pounce. All that went through my mind was "Oh boy". He then came up and right in the middle of our conversation, and peaked his head around the wall to start talking to her. He said "I have four questions for you.." He then went on to say " Number One: Is God the God of the whole Earth?" she then said "yeah". Brother Blye then, with a keniving smirk, said "OK well do you believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is for everyone?" She then said "No" and Brother Blye had no rebuttle. She had stumped the master teacher. He started glitching out and started to malfunction and had no clue what to do because apparently no one has said "no" to that question before. After sitting in that awkward silence with Brother Blye just standing there with his mouth open, the girl started to back away slowly. I was just trying not to laugh and I tried to save the contact by bearing testimony of the Book of Mormon but she was too weirded out. When she left I turned to Brother Blye and told him "You almost got her." He was dumbfounded the rest of the day.

This weeks spiritual thought comes from 2 Nephi 4:17, it is also known as Nephi's psalm. It says "O wretched man that I am! Yea, my heart sorroweth because of my flesh; my soul grieveth because of mine iniquities. 18 I am encompassed about, because of the temptations and the sins which do so easily beset me." Nephi is pretty upset with himself because he continues to give into temptation and keeps sinning. I feel like all of us are pretty hard on ourselves when we mess up, and we feel like we are worthless. But we need to remember that we are divine children of a loving Heavenly Father, and we are destined for way greater things than anything in this life. Nephi remembers this and remembers that Jesus Christ has made that destiny a reality for us. He later goes on to say "35 Yea, I know that God will give liberally to him that asketh. Yea, my God will give me, if I ask not amiss; therefore I will lift up my voice unto thee; yea, I will cry unto thee, my God, the rock of my righteousness. Behold, my voice shall forever ascend up unto thee, my rock and mine everlasting God. Amen." We need to remember that nobody is perfect, even one of the greatest prophets who have ever lived. We need to stop writing ourselves out of the atonement use this gift that Jesus Christ had given us to change and find joy. Love you all! Jesus Christ is the Healer and He lives!. Have a great weak!
