Photoshoot

Hey everyone! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend! We were able to go to a members house for Thanksgiving. This week went by pretty fast. Honestly all the weeks are going by fast at this point haha. Our friend Isaiah was going to get baptized this past Saturday but we had to push it back so please pray for Isaiah.  This week we went on an exchange and I took a new missionary into our area. We went and made some calls on the San Clemente Pier, and we were having a great time. Then this guy who hardly speaks any English walks up to me and gives me his phone. All he said was "photoshoot". So he walked about 30 feet away from me and I took pictures of him striking poses as he walked down the Pier. It wasn't until he got a little closer to me that I noticed that he had peed his pants. Me and the Elder I was with then looked at each other and started dying. He then had me do the same thing but have the phone vertical. So I'm trying to hold in my laughter as he is stru...

We're Gonna Need A Bigger Pole

Hey everyone! This week went by quick. Some cool things happened this week where 80 marines showed up to church yesterday and it was such a cool experience to be able to teach so many of them. We also put our friend Francisco, whose a marine, on date for baptism for December 9th. Our friend Isaiah is still solid and is getting baptized this Saturday. He shared with me that sometimes he doesn't want to come to church but he goes anyways, and he feels this peace that he has never felt before and he said that he knows that this church is true.  We usually do our calls and text on the San Clemente Pier, because it right by our apartment, and there are a lot of people fishing off the pier. So one night we were at the pier doing some phone calls and all of a sudden there's this teenaged kid running up and down the pier being drug by his pole. He was screaming for help from the lobster people. He was yelling "Lobster people, help! I've got a huge lobster!" The pole kept ...

Hey everyone! Hope all is well. This past week has been a big time warp, because we had transfers and I got a new companion. His name is Elder Barfuss and he's awesome. We also had our temple day on Wednesday so we had to have our P day on Wednesday instead of Monday. Our friend Isaiah, who is on date for baptism is still solid, and our other friends in our teaching pool are pretty solid as well. We are still going on campus every day to try and find some more people who are ready to recieve this amazing message that Christ's church is on the earth today. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be on the Lord's errand 24/7.  This experience happened the other week and I thought I would share it because this week was pretty boring with preparing for, and having transfers, but this experience happened at church on base. I was waiting by the door of the chapel because a lot of non member marines come wandering in during the service. So towards the end of the service a marin...

Out Of Place

Hey everyone! Hope your week was great. This week was a blur for me. Halloween came and went pretty fast and now it has already almost been a week. This week we had a halloween party for the YSA ward, we had MLC the day after, and went on an exchange with some Elders that are on bikes but the members gave them Ebikes, so overall pretty good week. Like I said, we had a Halloween party with the YSA ward. We weren't going to dress up, but the Sisters also serving in the ward said that everyone was dressing up and you need to dress up or else you will be lame. So we went to every halloween store near us during our dinner hour frantically searching for a costume to buy. We went to TJ Maxx and found some onesies. I got a Grinch one and my compainion got a minion. We bought them and went over to the church. When we got there I couldn't help but notice that everone else's definition of dressing up was a little different than me. Everyone else was dressed up in regular clothes with ...
