Interrupting Cow...

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a good week! It was kind of crazy with exchanges and teaching this week, but I'm not complaining. We were able to get in contact with someone we previously taught and he said that he wants to get baptized, so he is on date for June 19th. Recruit Coplan, one of the recruits we were teaching, also got baptized yesterday. We should have two baptisms this upcoming week so please keep Young and AJ in your prayers. In this area we do a lot of phone lessons, just because we cover such a big area and YSA's are busy. So we were teaching one of our friends over the phone and we had a member on the line as well. I asked a member for their insights on the topic we were discussing and before the member could say anything, our friend started telling us his insights. Let's just say that his comments were not in line with the church's doctrine haha. I thought to myself that I must have accidentally said the friends name instead of the members name, so I a...

Hey everyone! This week was a quick one haha. Those temple days make the week go by fast! We got a referral from the missionaries in Anahiem for a guy who just moved to our area and we put him on date for May 29th! His name is Young and he is super cool. We also had a great week on base and got to teach some more recruits. We should have one baptism this Sunday there, which is exciting. This week on base I got to teach a few recruits at the same time. The thing about teaching the recruits is that you have to teach fast but in a way that they can understand because they are only here for four weeks. So time is precious. Another challenge is that it is 6am when we are teaching them and they are already tired from being in bootcamp so they are fighting to stay awake. As I was teaching these four recruits, I would be making eye contact with one of them and they would fall asleep as they were looking at me. Then I would look over and the other ones would be asleep and snoring. I then had to...

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great week. This week we have P day on Wednesday because we are going to the temple. This past week has been crazy with teaching which has been spiritually charging. Our mission president came down to Vista this past Saturday with his pickleball partner to have one last pickleball match. We also had 4 recruits that said that they wanted to get baptized in two weeks, so we're super excited about that. My friend in my last area, Roland, finally got baptized on Saturday! I got to video call in and watch the baptism and he was so happy. This past week I was going through and calling people who were previously interested in our area book. I called this one guy named Travis who was taught a while back. He said that it was crazy that we reached out today because he had just picked up his copy of the Book of Mormon today to start reading it. He said that he was super down to meet so we set up a time to meet the next day at the church. The next day we met up...

Shivers Down The Spine

Hey everyone! Hope everyone's week was good! This week we had zone conference and I got to see a bunch of my old companions and friends in the mission. Most of our time has been spent teaching which is different from how the rest of my mission has been. We have some really cool people that we are teaching! Recruit Boyd, one of the marines that I taught on base got baptized on Sunday. It's kinda crazy because we only have about 3 weeks to baptize them so we have to teach them quick and make sure they understand.  Every Friday we play volleyball with the YSA ward and we had one of our friends come. We were having a great time and our friend was liking it too. Our friend was on the front line and was right in front of the server. The server was on a roll and had aced the past 4 or 5 serves. The last one got away from him a little bit but that was the one he hit the hardest. He smacked that ball so hard that it started to whistle. It whistled right into the back of our friend. The ...
