The Long And Winding Road

Hey everyone! Hope you week went well. This week went by like a blurr. We have some awesome people that we are teaching and we have been super busy teaching them throughout the week. This Sunday we had special sacrament meeting and Brad Wilcox came! Another YSA joined ours and it was the YSA ward I was in a year ago so I got see some old friends.  This week our friend needed help doing some yard work so we decided to go help him. We thought that it would be a great idea to bring a member from the ward along so he can fellowship. The thing is, is that the member doesn't have a car but he said he would come. So we got to the house and called the member to make sure he was coming. He answered and he had just woken up, red flag number one. He said that he would be right over, so we started working. After about an hour of working he still hadn't showed so we called him again. He answered and said that he is just about to pull up. We then continued working and finished all of the wor...

Hey everyone, hope all of you had a great week! This week was jam packed with stuff. We had transfers and I said by to my friends and the members in Lake Forest. I was transfered to Vista and I am in a YSA ward again and we also go on base and teach the marine recruits in basic training. I am super excited to be in this ward because this is most likely where I'm going to end my mission.  My new comps name is Elder Anderson and he goes home this transfer. Which is crazy because I go home the transfer after that, so we are going to work and play hard this transfer haha. This past week me and Elder Anderson were given the tast of moving a couch out of an apartment that was being closed down. So we got there and started to move the couch out. We noticed that it was going to be a little tight but that didn't stop us from trying to stand it upright and try to shove it through the door frame. We tried to shove it upright and a bunch of random objects started falling on me from the cou...

The Magic Mover

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great week. This past week was kinda crazy. I went down to Carlsbad to camp Pendleton to do a training for missionaries that go on base. We got a flat tire and we fixed it in 15 minutes flat, and 13 of those minutes were us searching the car to try and find the spare tire and the jack. We also helped people with two moves. Overall good week though.  The first move that we helped with was one of our friends that we are teaching that is moving to Texas. She hired this one man moving company. His name was T'Chaka (like Black Panthers dad) and he was one of the coolest guys that I've ever met. He also only had this sprinter van that he fit an entire apartment worth of stuff in, which consisted of a washer, dryer, two couches, and  a bunch of boxes. He started by putting of of the couches in and then the washer and dryer. He then asked for my help to put the other couch on top of the couch already in there. So we get it in the van and we flip it ups...

Who Let the Dogs Out?!?!

Hey everyone! Hope your week went well. It was like Christmas this weekend for me with General conference going on. It was my last general conference on the mission and it's honestly pretty sad. But the messages that were shared were exactly what I needed to here and I am so grateful to live in a time where we have living prophets seers and revelators on the Earth. Nothing too crazy happened this past week but we were knocking doors and met this really nice couple and talked to them for a little bit. In the middle of the conversation I heard a faint quaking in the background. I'm sure if I had a glass of water it would have rippled like in Jurassic Park. The quaking got louder and louder until I saw what I thought was a bear barreling around the corner and bounding at me. I was frozen with fear and I guess I just accepted that my time on earth was up. The beast pounced and put its paws on my shoulders and licked my face. It was a huge Akida dog named Maddie who is the biggest t...

Independence Day

Hey everyone and happy Easter! Hope your week was good as we celebrated our Saviors resurrection. This week was pretty good, it got pretty rainy towards the end of the week but we were still able to find a good amount of people that were interested in learning more! Our friend Roland's baptism got pushed back to April 13th so please be praying for him! Every week we wake up and play basketball with some guys in the stake and in the community. The age range is 20-85, so I bet you can imagine what kind of basketball we're playing. There is this one old guy that's in his late 70's named Randy. He kinda just shuffles around and is an obstacle for both teams but he is the best and we all love him. One morning this week we were playing a game and I cut down the middle towards the basket. The guy with the ball saw me and tried to thread the needle but his reaction time is not what it used to be and after I was long gone he decided to fire it in there. He threw that thing harde...
